Happy Memorial Day

I don't know about anyone else, but I am very happy to see the end of May quickly approaching. It's been an incredibly busy month for us here; we recently signed on with Parkway Automotive Group to do ongoing marketing and site content management for their family of four car dealerships. We started on May 1st by creating custom landing pages for all of their lease specials to be showcased in an attractive manner, and quickly moved on to designing and sending sales email blasts for each dealership featuring their lease offers.

Google+ releases first interface redesign

After just 7 months of public use, Google+ released the first update of their social networking site on Wednesday, April 11.

Facebook buys Instagram for $1 billion

On April 9, Facebook announced the purchase of photo-sharing app company Instagram for $1 billion in cash and stock.

Facebook Timeline for Pages is Here!

At the beginning of the month, Facebook announced that all "pages" would be converted to the Timeline feature at on the 30th. So, we've been busy all month creating cover photos for our clients that accurately represent their products or services, look great, and don't get cut off with by profile images.

A lot brewing about web privacy

With Google's recently updated unilateral privacy policy, President Obama calling for a "Consumer Privacy Bill of Rights," and many state attorney generals calling for mobile app privacy standards, it's hard to ignore the topic of your privacy online.

Google Latitude introduces "leaderboard" feature

Google quietly updated its Latitude feature inside Android's Google Maps app this week, adding a foursquare-style points leaderboard.

Google Search + Your World

Earlier this year, Google announced a new search feature, called Search + Your World. The new feature has since been released, and integrates social media results (mostly from Google +, but if you use Google Reader you get results from your Reader subscriptions also) into your search results. 

Facebook Files IPO

Facebook filed its much-anticipated Initial Public Offering on Wednesday, February 1, with the hopes of raising $5 billion worth of initial funding— a figure that is five times Facebook's profit for 2011. 

Super Bowl Ads

This morning, after recovering from way too much food yesterday, I stumbled across an interesting stat: Super Bowl commercials or teasers for them were watched 30 million times BEFORE this weekend. I thought about that most of the day, and am still blown away.
